Portable Snacks that are an Easy No Work Needed Addition to Your Routine

Getting myself and two kids ready, breakfasts and lunches made, and everyone out the door on time without forgetting anything, is a HUGE victory I strive for daily. One thing I try to make easy so that I’m not reaching for whatever low value snack is laying around in my classroom is a good quality snack. The best most reliable snacks are portable and super quick.

I’ve made three new discoveries recently, and of course have a few tried and true I come back to each week. Obviously, a handful of nuts works great to cure hunger, but I have a killer sweet tooth that needs satisfying, so here are my new favorites.

My coworker recommended  trying Chobani Flip. They are delicious. One side is a flavored yogurt, the other a mix in for the yogurt. My favorites are the Almond Coco Loco and the Peanut Caramel Satisfaction (shown below). A bit more sugar than I’d like, but really could take the place of a treat. Substitute a bowl of ice cream for this more protein packed goody. This is a great option when I want to avoid the stack of cookies in the office.

The next snack I’m loving is from Sargentos. The original snack packs with nuts, cheese, and raisins are one of my all time favorites. I’ve even made my own versions at home to save money, but now there is a sweet version that’s the perfect combination of savory and sweet. This product has cheese, dried bananas, and dark chocolate. It’s so good!

Finally, my most recent crave are coconut chips which I discovered in my Love with Food box this month (read about this here). I’ve never found myself to be a huge coconut fan, but these are really good. They are the perfect substitute for chips since they are crunchy, yet they also have a sweet element. Very addicting! I found these at Woodman’s in the produce aisle near the organic fruit. These beauties only contain three ingredients: coconut, cane sugar, and sea salt. If you like coconut, you’ll love these.

Having a great supply of go to snacks on hand is important to keeping me satisfied during the workweek.  All three of these also help with my sweet tooth. Clearly, I’m highly addicted to sugar. I love that these all take little effort to toss into my work bag so that I am a happier–not so hungry–person. Comment below with some of your favorites. I’m also happy to have more ideas.
