Sneak Peek at May’s 30 Day Challenge

Because the stack of books by my nightstand is getting larger and larger, my challenge for May will be to read one book a week. That means four books read this month. I have carefully selected my four selections for this month based on interest, recommendations, and topic–page numbers will also play a factor since I need to turn over books quickly. If a book goes over a week, but all four are completed within the month, I will consider my goal met. For me, finishing one book a month can sometimes be a challenge; I rarely have time to even blog. So, I will be getting creative with my reading time.

Below are my book selections.

1. Drowned City: Hurricane Katrina & New Orleans (graphic novel)
2. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
3. The Fault in Our Stars
4. Gone Girl (May be replaced with 13 Reasons Why if I can get a copy)

I’ve encouraged my students to get involved with the challenge by hosting a book club at lunch for The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. We will be meeting Monday, Wednesday, and Friday the second week. I’d love it if anyone else was interested in reading them too. Book clubs are so much fun and a great challenge. I”m hoping someone else will be inspired to give a 30 Challenge a try.
