Although we have several splash pads around town, the one at Sherwood Park is more of an attraction than any near me. So, today I scheduled a playdate and took a little drive to check it out. As you know, I’m always up for a new adventure.
Located in small town of around 2,000 people, the small population boast a grand sized park. Sherwood Park is beautifully constructed with three separate playground areas, a fenced in splash pad with dump stations and several spraying mechanisms, walking path, gazebos, restrooms, and a movie venue for films in the park. Although I did not get photos of the splash pad due to there being so many kids around and fear of needing permission to post pictures of minors that are not my own, I did get a photo of the theater area and one of the three play areas. The best part of this whole day event was that it’s FREE! We packed a picnic lunch and stay for several hours, going back and forth between the splash pad and park areas.

If you’re looking for some splash pad pictures, check out Sherwood Park’s Facebook page or visit the park’s webpage.
Even though this park appeared–to me– like it was in the middle of nowhere, there was a grocery store and gas station conveniently located within walking distance, so all the necessities were right there. The park was incredibly clean and well maintained.
This was a great afternoon full of entertainment we are sure to do again. I highly encourage checking it out yourself if you have young children.
