Chef Fusion Knows How to Infuse the Flavors of Food

Our monthly date night was a month late due to my husband having a cold. We were supposed to go out for his birthday, but we had to postpone our date for another night when he was feeling more up to it. So, when we finally got our night away, we took advantage of a full course menu at Chef Fusion, and it was worth the wait.

Chef Fusion has an upstairs menu with small and medium plates and full course downstairs menu. We usually eat upstairs because it offers a huge variety for everyone in our group, but since we were alone we decided to try the downstairs environment. The menu is set up as a three course menu with a salad, entree, and dessert plus bread service. The bread was so fresh and the dipping sides were amazing especially the olive tapenade.

We also got an appetiser of oysters on the half. They were very fresh and delicious. This is always my husband’s first pick. 2017-12-09_18-19-31_206.jpeg

My salad was their seasonal chopped salad with romaine, kale, garbanzo beans, carrots, apples and dried cranberries, candied pecans, blue cheese, and homemade french dressing. This was a huge salad. My husband had their modern caesar salad with romaine, tomatoes, cucumber, house dressing, and parmesan crisps which takes the place of the croutons. He loved it.

The main course was a 6oz prime beef tenderloin with truffle mashed potatoes, melted bone marrow butter, topped with baby carrots. This was cooked to melt in my mouth perfection.

Lastly, we each tried a different dessert. I got the lemon butter cake per the server’s recommendation. I originally wanted something fudgy and decedent, but it was so worth trying this butter cake! It was rich, buttery, crisp on the outside yet warm and gooey on the inside. The lemon flavor enhanced the buttery richness. Yum! I’ve talked about this dessert with my coworkers and the ones who have also had it rave about how amazing it is, but I would recommend sharing as it is large. I had to take some home. It was still super tasty the next day.

My husband ordered his favorite go to dessert: french vanilla creme brulee. His was also excellent. The caramelization was perfect and french vanilla was a perfect pair with the creaminess of the inside. By far his favorite.

Another great date night in the books. This was a fun one!
