I absolutely love a garden setting: the vibrant flowers, artful statues, and pollinating bees make the space so alive. For the second summer in a row, I’ve heard this garden mentioned as a place for families to visit. Being in that it is located in Sheboygan, we finally decided to take a road trip; it was worth the drive!
What makes the garden so special is it combines the love of nature with the love of reading. After visiting, I can say with certainty, Bookworm Gardens is a must see for all families.

First off the gardens themselves are beautiful. Paved walkways, potted plant, and water features, complement the bountiful flowers on display. On top of the beauty, there is all the story elements that adds to the whimsy.

Each section of the garden has a storybook theme which is recognizable for many littles ones and avid readers alike. Some of which include Charlotte’s Web, Winnie the Pooh, The Three Little Bears, and Magic School Bus.

There were also these secret doors hidden along the garden path. It reminded me of the book The Secret Garden. Inside the doors were books related to the story that was in that particular section of the garden.

We made an entire day out of exploring this space. Being a language arts teacher, I was completely in my element. Overall, my family really enjoyed this interactive garden.
